Parallel Planes is derived from the project Density Drawings. Multiple parallel images are created during the making of a painting, recording selected moments on multiple different frames of film – a physical stacking of sorted moments. The prints made from these negatives represent multiple different representations of the same linear process of making a painting. Each print functions as a proposal for one interpretation of the infinite possibilities and confirms that the documentation of time is not as straightforward as it seems. The sets in this series may be regarded as ‘Parallel Planes’ in time.
